Alright, I know i promised to have something like a video diary via my camera or blackberry videos but this unfortunately did NOT happen.. We did so much and probably would have needed to hire a camera man to fully enjoy and experience this whole trip. So after a while i stopped worrying about it and just took everything in.

I’ve been on family vacations, spring break vacations, all in which i remember a few memories from. I’ve always seemed to enjoy myself everywhere i go and everything i do, but we all know its impossible to remember every detail. Well my three months in Denmark has come and gone in no time and I will tell everyone now that this experience will be with me for a lifetime. Every moment from the arrival in Copenhagen, the show in Odense, the friends and family (which felt like my own), the unexpected events, the studio time, and networking with very talented people. So much has gone on since I arrived and even with any of the bad that might have happened.. All of the positive that has come from this trip has overshadowed it and re-assured me that i’d never regret taking this chance.

This trip was all about my music and business.. Unfortunately I didn’t get to perform as many shows as we had planned. As we dug deeper into certain offers, we felt they either weren’t a good look or simply weren’t worth the time. Still, i had the great opportunities to learn, share my music, and network with a lot of great talented people. People in which i will be working with in the future and hopefully years to come.

As much as I would have this whole experience to be about music, the part that reassured me the most were the people. Everyone who allowed me to be a part of their lives for these three months with open arms and embraced me as if I were family. Especially coming to a country I knew VERY little about the actual language. Everyone was always very helpful and understanding and hell i even learned a little Danish. These relationships are rare to come by in life i believe, but it is moments and times like these that influence me the most.

I always tell people that life in general inspires me and this is exactly what i am talking about. This isn’t an “I found myself in Europe” story. To me no matter where you go, or what you do, you always learn a little more about yourself depending on the situations you put yourself in..To me, this is what life is about..Taking chances.. Everything I have done so far in my life has been fairly high risk, but also very high reward. Anything that initially scared the hell out of me, or was a leap of faith so to speak, was well worth it when it was all said and done. People, experiences, LIFE in general is what keeps me creative and keeps me motivated and is the main reason why i feel like i will always continue to have this ambition.

To me its all about expecting the unexpected so nothing is ever really a surprise to me. Instead of being afraid of the unknown, I always embrace it and more than likely I can always find more positive to take away from the situation than negative. Even if there were a slight chance it wouldn’t end up the way i dreamt it up in my head.. I’d hate to leave a situation with a “What if?”

Looking back on my experience as a whole, if Denmark had just been a “What if” my life would be very different. Not saying for worse, but not as favorable as it is for me now. With new relationships, new outlooks, and new inspiration. This whole time I feel has been nothing but positive and refreshing. Only comparable to the first time i moved from my hometown in upstate New York and began my music career in South Carolina. With new surroundings, a new freedom, and thousands of great people i will remember for the rest of my life. It is the times like this and the high risk chances in life that always give the greatest rewards. So many great things have came about from that initial move five years ago, i can only imagine what will come about this. All i can say is as of right now, Denmark has been everything i expected and much much more.

In addition I want to say thank you to everyone who made me feel so welcome in your country and homes. I will miss you all and I will never forget everything you have done for me.. I will be sure to be back!

In Our Moment of Honesty..

This is just a VERY basic interpretation as there is much more behind the actual meaning if you look into it.Every aspect of this cover means something. From the earth in the top right corner, to the fires, the black soil with the withered tree, spacious sunlit landscape and of course the red apple. I won’t go into everything but here is a little…

I wanted to take the viewer and place them in that specific “moment of honesty” where you are faced with this setting and a choice.. Set in a rather spacious desolate atmosphere, there are actually 4 parts to this cover. The clouds and almost greek looking buildings, which symbolize the heavens. The dark landscape with the old tree symbolizes “limbo“.. In this piece of art, Limbo is now home to the fabled tree from the garden of Eden with the forbidden fruit.

Noticeably beneath “limbo” are the fires of hell, both the apple and fire are bright and colorful showing the obvious relation between the two. Also in color but less noticeable would be planet earth in the top right corner off in the distance.

All of these elements symbolize “the moment of truth” or in other words “the moment of honesty”. The Lonliness, pain, etc. you’d expect to feel while in Limbo with the last temptation sitting right there in front of you. While off in the distance is something much more greater that you can visualize but not yet experience, or a circumstance you may be forced to deal with if you make the wrong choice.. All very abstract that they have all come together as a choice to be made.

Much greater than this whole explanation is the simple fact that in our moment of honesty we are dealt with choices & decisions to be made whether we realize it or not and these the biblical stories gave me a great canvas to express that notion.

I am very interested with all religions, and this is just my spin on it. You don’t even need to believe in a religon to respect “the moment of honesty”, as for these life lessons and hardships we deal with in every day life regardless of any affiliation. Life is about choices and we all face them, believer or not, in our moment of honesty.

First i’d like to start off by saying that i’ve officially got myself a BandCamp page, which will be linked on my homepage ASAP. Everything i post on it will be FREE!! Don’t you love me?

Right now this page is dedicated to my first instrumental release.. EVER.. It includes some of the more popular instrumentals off of my solo debut album & a whole slew of instrumentals that have never seen the light of day, or that were simply mixtape tracks.

I chose to do this by NO type of demand because as the title of this blog suggests, not many people even know i produce and most who do know, figure since im an artist my production must be “ehhh”. So here is a small showcase for everyone to enjoy. This is just the tip of the iceberg really, but at least it is something!

So I’m still in Denmark and i finally got my hands on a decent mic and rigged a little studio setup… Not much of one, but I can make just about anything work with enough mastering.. So here is my first internationally recorded track, switching it up a bit taking it back to my remix days back in NY. This one is an exclusive off an upcoming mixtape. Features the likes of Nas, T.Knibbs and myself.

I coincidently came across miss David while on YouTube after one of my videos played through. She has great taste in music and an even better voice. Her page is full of cover material on YouTube, which you can check out by clicking the picture below.

So i came across her cover of “Best I Ever Had” by Drake and noticed she had an MP3 version. Mixed the two together and this is the final outcome.. Though i’d love to work with her in the future, this will have to settle for now.
